The Songbirds

               Songbirds Chior
Music is not just the language of love, but also the language of life. That's why we enjoy our Senior Center Choir - named the Song Birds. These talented individuals put on moving performances for seniors at the center and for various groups in the community.
               Line Dancing
The Seniors themselves run their own Bible Study group and organized the Golden Oldies Get Moving, a group to raise money and plan trips and other activities.
The Senior Center offers classes through Wayne Community College in sewing, painting and how to use computers.
In addition, the Center offers Bridge Club, Choir, Craft Class, Line Dancing, Bible Study, Billiards Competition, Trivia, Walking Group, Crochet Group, Ceramics, Jewelry Making, Painting Group, BINGO, and Chair Exercise and many other programs.
The Peggy M. Seegar Senior Center now has an outdoor recreation area that offers a walking track, Gazebo, Picnic tables and benches.  Soon we are hoping to have raised flower beds for those who like to attend to flowers
Outdoor Area
Not everyone who comes to the Senior Center enjoys structured activities and there are independent activities to enjoy: the newspaper is available daily; we have two regulation pool tables, a Wii with sports programing, checkers, cards, puzzles and more. The Senior Center is a vibrant place that is grow in attendance by leaps and bounds.

                      Bridge Club

We plan many special activities at the Senior Center aimed at educating entertaining, and drawing the public into our Center.
We have speakers on health related topics and also coordinate health related programs at the Mount Olive Meal Site.
In an effort to keep expenses down and use community resources, we have formed partnerships within Wayne County government. We have partnered with the Wayne County Library to start a lending library at the Senior Center and an intergenerational story time.
Come visit the Senior Center and see for yourself how active and vibrant our Seniors are!
